I Moved!

I’ve moved! To New York! San Francisco has been so wonderful to me for …. almost thirty years! But it was time. For the longest time, so many of my friends and colleagues have been telling me to move to NY. Fred Ho was one of them. And I’ve always wanted to, but circumstances made it impossible… up until now. I saw an opening and I went for it! I got rid of a bunch of my stuff, scaled everything down to a bare minimum, bought a one way plane ticket to New York, and Boom! Here I am.

My goal and purpose: To learn and to grow - as a musician and as a human being. To reach my highest vibration. To find my inner resonance. And this place is it.

It’s been over three months now, but with a big tour in between i’m still settling in. I gotta say, it’s been so humbling and inspiring here, with my friends helping me get my footing, and needless to say, hearing and meeting some of the best musicians in the world on a regular basis.

A friend of mine asked me “So, what’s been the most unexpected thing about being in New York?” I said, “I didn’t expect to meet so many amazing people right off the bat!”

It’s true. I’ve been meeting some amazing folks here. We all know that you can’t live alone. You need a community. It seems that New Yorkers really understand that - in a very deep way. People here are genuine. And thanks to them, my time here so far has been positively humbling and inspiring. Hey I’m even liking the snow! I haven’t l had snowy winter since high school when I lived in Germany and Japan, but i’m getting back used to it ok. And I think, having four seasons is a great thing for a human soul…!

I do miss my friends and family in the Bay Area though, and I can’t wait to see them. It’ll likely be sometime around spring. More on that soon hopefully.

But for now - it’s time to hit the shed, go to sessions, and…. have another slice!
